According to him, the district has tightened construction management since early this year. Despite some difficulties in the coercive removal of violating construction works, violations have been spotted, deterred and handled in a timely manner.

In 2018, the district had 60 unlicensed works, down 20 works over the previous year.

In the first four months this year, the number rocketed to 80 works, up 70 works or 700 percent compared to the same period last year.

Most of the unlicensed works were in agricultural land or in areas where plans have not been implemented in Linh Xuan, Linh Trung, Linh Dong, Tam Phu, Binh Chieu, Truong Tho, Hiep Binh Chanh and Hiep Binh Phuoc wards.

Moreover, the number of illegal works rocketed 153 percent year on year in the first four months to reach 38 cases.
