Jabil Builds US$100 Million Plant in HCMC

Jabil on Tuesday was granted an investment certificate to build a US$100 million plant to assemble and test printed circuit boards in the HCMC-based Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP).

Jabil Vietnam Co. Ltd is the subsidiary of the world’s third largest electronic manufacturing service providers with over 100,000 employees worldwide and 30,000 employees in various countries and territories in Asia.

A complex will be build on a land plot covering an area of five hectares to assemble circuit boards, printers, data servers and high-tech medical equipment.

The complex is set to start operation in September, churning out 3.5 million products annually in the first phase from 2007 to 2009.

The second phase, beginning in 2009, will see its production size double to 7 million units per year.
