Luxembourg Eyes Banking & Finance Ties with HCMC

The visiting Luxembourg Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, Jean-Louis Schiltz, on Thursday discussed with HCMC Chairman Le Hoang Quan their cooperative plans for the city’s socio-economic development, especially bilateral ties in banking and finance.

Jean-Louis Schiltz, who triples as Luxemburg’s Minister of Communications and Minister of Defense, was accompanied by representatives from Luxembourg associations of banking and finance investment, and the Society of European Satellites (SES).
Among other things, cooperation in banking, finance, human resources, and airlines were the subjects of in-depth discussions between the two leaders. 
The Luxembourg minister also revealed a plan to open direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Luxembourg in the near future.
The HCMC mayor expressed his wish to see further cooperation between Luxembourg and HCMC, and fully supported the plans to open HCMC-Luxembourg flights and city-based branches of Luxemburg banks.
Previously, the Luxembourg minister attended a conference to introduce the financial products and services of the Luxembourg financial center at the HCMC Stock Exchange. 
The Luxemburg delegation will leave HCMC for Ha Noi to discuss Viet Nam-Luxembourg cooperation in the areas of humanitarian aid, health, finance, and communications.
