The tax will be based on the indexes indicated on water-meters
From June 1, the tax rate on surface water consumption will be VND2,000/m3, and VND4,000/m3 on underground water, the HCMC People’s Committee announced yesterday.
Accordingly, organizations and individuals in Ho Chi Minh City including garment factories, dye-works, and aquatic product and seafood processing companies will be subjected to the water resource tax.
The taxes will be based on the indexes indicated on water-meters in each location.
Currently, the city residents use water from two different sources: the surface water including water in rivers and springs, and underground water.
