Parking fee payment through mobile piloted in HCMC’s downtown

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, the municipal administration, and military-run mobile carrier Viettel carried out piloted program of mobile payment for parking fee in HCMC’s downtown today.

The piloted program applies the mobile app, My Parking, developed by military-run mobile carrier Viettel.
The program is being carried out on in several paid parking lots in District 1, including Phan Boi Chau Street, Phan Chu Trinh Streets, and a section of Le Lai Street in front of the New World Saigon Hotel with 150 -170 spaces in total.
From October 21 to December 31, My Parking users can use the app to complete parking payment via SMS, Viettel’s bank transfer services, or the traditional way of cash in the pilot project.
The time-saving app can help users to find out available parking spaces, book a lot in advance, direction to parking area and pay a fee of VND5,000 ($22 cents) as parking lot reservation . It is available for both Android and iOS.
