PM approves bridge building to replace Cat Lai, Binh Khanh ferries

The Prime Minister has approved construction of two bridges to replace Cat Lai ferry in  the Dong Nai river and Binh Khanh ferry in the Soai Rap River, HCMC.

He agreed with supplementing the two bridges into HCMC's transport development plan by 2020 with visions after 2020.
The first bridge will be built to replace overloaded Cat Lai ferry, linking Dong Nai province’s Nhon Trach district up to HCMC’s District 2. The total length of the bridge and approach roads will be 4.5 kilometers.
Can Gio bridge will replace Binh Khanh ferry, connecting Nha Be and Can Gio district in HCMC. The bridge and approach roads’ length totals 7.3 kilometers.
The PM also approved building an 8.6 kilometer road in parallel with Highway 50 in 2017-2020. The six lane road will run from Nha Be district to Can Giuoc district, Long An province.
The road will measure 40 meters in width and permit vehicle speed of 80 kilometers an hour.
