US city seeks closer economic ties with HCMC

A delegation from San Francisco led by Mark Chandler, director of the US city’s Mayor’s Office of International Trade and Commerce, visited Ho Chi Minh City September 28 to explore economic and trade cooperation.

City Deputy Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hong welcomed the delegation and hailed the cooperation between the two countries in many areas.

She wished for closer ties between the two cities, which had twinned with each other even before the two countries normalized their relationship.

She assured that HCMC seeks to strengthen its ties with San Francisco and would create favorable conditions for the latter’s companies to invest here.
