More than 10,000 people yesterday attended the fourth United for the Poor walk that commemorated the International Day for Eradication of Poverty (Oct 17) and 78th anniversary of the Vietnam National United Front (Nov 18).
The walk raised VND 6.2 billion (more than US $375,000) and US $1,000 contributed to the fund for the poor by 63 organizations in the city. The money has been given to the city’s Campaign Board for The Poor.
The walk was organized by the city’s Standing Board of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
