LAHORE, Pakistan, March 30, 2009 (AFP) - Gunmen Monday attacked a police training school near the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, police said.
"Unknown gunmen have attacked the police training school, we have called in elite force," senior police official Mumtaz Sukhera told reporters.
"We do not know about casualties," Sukhera said, but state television quoting sources said that four policemen were killed in the attack.
The training facility is located outside Lahore at a place called Manawan.
Live television footage showed bodies of some policemen in the parade ground as intense gunfire continued.
Police cordoned the area outside the school as police commandos and armoured personnel carriers moved in, the live TV footage showed.
