According to the ministry, the country has inaugurated 13 SEZs nationwide, with total investment of 85.3 trillion Rp (US$6.05 billion), which attracted nearly 8,700 labourers.
Besides the 13 SEZs, the remaining four SEZs are under the process of construction including Kendal SEZ (Central Java), Likupang SEZ (North Sulawesi), Nongsa SEZ (Batam), and MRO SEAs (Batam Island).
SEZs have become regional economic drivers, said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution.
