While opening two sugar free ‘Dr Thanh’ beverage drinks at the Noi Nho coffee shop on Pham Van Dong Street in Yen The Ward of Pleiku City on December 16, some customers found tiny sediment deposits at the bottom of the bottles, though the expiry date was still seven months away.

Police officials have inspected the Van Hai Grocery on the same street, which supplied the above beverage bottles to the coffee shop, and found sediment deposits in three more bottles of the same brand.

Representatives of ‘Dr Thanh’ brand in the central and central highland regions on Monday afternoon admitted to the police that the above bottles were produced by their company.

The matter is still under further investigation.
