Former Miss South Mekong senetenced to two years for prostitution brokerage

Former Miss South Mekong 2009 Vo Thi My Xuan who involved in beauties, models and students high-class prostitute ring was sentenced to two years and six months in jail on charge of brokering prostitution.

Xuan’s accomplices in the high-class prostitution ring involving beauties, models and students also received prison sentences. Tran Quang Mai, born in 1972, Mekong delta province of Long An native, and Le Quang Tuan Anh, born in 1985 from the highland province of Lam Dong, received five years and three years in jail respectively.

Luong Quoc Huy, born in 1987 from the central province of Binh Thuan, received a one-year suspended sentence; Tran Thi Hoa, born in 1986 from the northern province of Hai Duong got suspended sentences of two years; Nguyen Huu Dat, from Mekong delta city of Can Tho who was sentenced to a year and a month and 24 days in prison, which is equal to his detention time before the trial, so he was set free straight away after the court ended.

According to police indictment, on June 2, 2012, while raiding two hotels in District 1, police found out four couples who had sex activities. Former Miss South Mekong 2009 Vo Thi My Xuan was discovered to participate in prostitution acts in the hotel.
