Russian man arrested for damaging ATM to steal money

Russian national Leksii Vackvasaki, born 1982, was arrested by police in Nha Trang city of the central province of Khanh Hoa because he used a screwdriver to forcibly lever the ATM shield open to steal money.

Police in Nha Trang City yesterday said they held Leksii Vackvasaki on criminal charges of ‘stealing money’.
Before, on May 24, police in Loc Tho ward was informed that a foreigner was damaging Techcombank’s ATM in Nguyen Thien Thuat Street. Seeing police officers, the foreign man fled away leaving at the spot a motorbike.
Realizing that the man could not run far away, police sent their men in many streets to catch him. At last, police discovered a suspected man with backpack at Green Hotel in Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street.
At the police station, the foreign man told his name Leksii Vackvasaki with passport of Russian nationality. Through searching, police officers seized equipment to steal data, two screwdrivers, adhesive tape and clothes.
Initially, Leksii Vackvasaki confessed his crime.
