Viet Nam, Cambodia Police Cooperate in Tracking Down Children Traffickers

Yesterday, police in Tay Ninh Province conducted an urgent house-search at the places where three men, arrested in connection with a Chinese children trafficking ring on May 23, were staying in Di An District, Binh Duong Province and Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. The police also took away some papers and documents suspected of relating to the trafficking.

The three Chinese children are taken good care of at the office of Tay Ninh Province Police.

In addition, Tay Ninh Province Police have contacted their Cambodian counterparts in Phnom Penh City to ask for their cooperation in tracking down Cambodian people involved in the trafficking ring.
The initial investigation reveals the trafficking ring is well organized. The traffickers send Chinese scouts to seek and seduce Chinese children, and transfer them to Viet Nam via Mong Cai border gate in Quang Ninh Province along the northeastern border of Viet Nam. Vietnamese accomplices will take over and transport them to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) in the south of Viet Nam. From HCMC, traffickers continue to transfer the children to Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh Province, in southwestern Viet Nam and hire people to smuggle them into Cambodia.
The three Chinese children, who were rescued from the ring on May 23, are being taken care of at the office of Tay Ninh Province Police.
