Viet Nam to Extradite Korean Man After Investigations

Vietnamese police have promised to extradite Lee Peum, 54, a South Korean national wanted in his country on extortion and other charges.

The police are holding him to investigate complaints against him from Korean businesspeople living in Viet Nam and local residents of running prostitution and gambling rackets, usury, and fraud.

In his native country, police in the capital Seoul want Lee for his suspected involvement in an extortion and casino racket and for allegedly intimidating a person into relinquishing his stakes to another.

The Vietnamese police said they didn’t have enough evidence yet to charge Lee.
