100 New Buses to Hit the Road in HCMC

One hundred new 45 air conditioned seat buses provided made by SAMCO (Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation) will hit the road in Ho Chi Minh City in August 2006.

These buses will operate on new routes which will be specified by the relevant authorities. So far two new routes have been established with one from District 8 Bus Station to An Suong Station, and the other from Tan Huong Market (Tan Phu District) to Suoi Tien Park.

“Thirty four new buses are scheduled to operate for the two routes only” said Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, general director of SAMCO. Around 20 of these new buses are planed to replace those running on Ho Chi Minh City – Phnompenh – Siem Reap (Cambodia) routes.
