Art performance pays tribute to war heroes, martyrs

An art performance marking the 71st Vietnam War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) and the 50th anniversary of the Mau Than Offensive 1968 took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Military Theater on July 25.

Attending at the event were former President Truong Tan Sang, Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and People's Armed Force heroes.
The event gave a deep knowledge of the glorious history and the Spring 1968 and honored the service, sacrifices and dedication of war veterans who served during Vietnam wars.
Audiences had a chance to exchange with war veterans, Nguyen Thi Hieu from Long An province, Ngo Ba Chinh and Vu Dinh Luat of HCMC who participated in the Tet Mau Than (1968) General Offensive and Uprising presented as special guests of the programs.
At the event, the Vietnam Martyrs' Family Support Association handed over 10 savings books worth VND50 million of each to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and 10 gifts to martyrs’ families.
On this occasion, VMFSA has cooperated with the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VNRC) and the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 to launch a campaign raising donations for implementing AND testing to identify war martyrs.
By texting TALS to 1405, each message will add VND20,000 to the fund.
