Authorities asked to remove pesticide contaminated waste

The Environment Protection Department under the Ministry of Public Security on Tuesday asked authorized organizations to remove the pesticide contaminated mud waste pile from the Dong Thanh garbage dump in Ho Chi Minh City.

However, the department asked that the authorized organizations should report the case to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, before they go ahead and handle the removal of the toxic waste buried in a garbage dump in Hoc Mon District of HCMC.

The organizations should remove all remaining toxic mud waste from where it was initially uncovered and dug out at the Tan Son Nhat-Binh Loi - outer belt road project in Hiep Binh Chanh Ward of Thu Duc District.

The removed mud waste will then have to be treated as per regulations on treatment of toxic waste.
