Ba Ria-Vung Tau authority closes Taiwan polluted dyeing plant

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau decided to close Taiwanese Mei Sheng Textile Company’s factory, said Chief Inspector of the department Nguyen Thai Sinh on May 10.

The department has post seal on 21 fabric dyeing machines and 7 textile dyeing machines. Mr. Sinh said that because the plant had no report on environmental impact assessment in 2011, the province authorities ordered to stop the plant’s operation for inspect further and then it was allowed to open again.

However the company has continued to violate the environment law for many times and discharge waste without properly treated into the environment. The authority has sealed the plant 6 times.

In case that the company intentionally violates the law, related agencies will issue harsh penalties on it.
