Binh Dinh Sets Up System to Keep Watch on Fishing Boats at Sea

Binh Dinh Province authorities have installed an information management and navigational supervising system.

It includes an ICOM IC-M710 transmitter, 1000w shortwave transceiver, control equipment, computer system and management software on the shore, and transmitters, GPS (Global Positioning System), and connectors aboard fishing ships.

The system, installed by the Sub-Department of Quality Management and Fisheries Resource Protection, will help remain in contact with around 1,000 fishing ships while they are at sea.

Costing VND1.5billions (US $89,300), it will automatically monitor the positions of the boats and send emergency information to rescue vessels.
