Binh Duong authorities tests drivers for heroin

The Department of Transport in the southern province of Binh Duong has asked transport companies to conduct health check-ups on all drivers for heroin.

The checks must be carried out at medical centers that have been certificated by the health ministry for test for morphine and heroin, amphetamines, methamphetamine and marijuana.
Any driver is positive for heroin substances, transport companies will not employ them or arrange them to do other job. Moreover, transport companies must keep periodical medical check-up and report to the Department no later than April 25.
At least, two truck drivers in the province were found to have used drugs during tests by related government agencies in early 2019.
One of the two was being behind the wheel of a long-haul sleeper bus carrying 30 passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to the southern province of Binh Phuoc; accordingly, the police forced him to stop and all passengers were evacuated to other bus to continue their trip.
