Binh Duong Province bans sand dredging in rivers

The People’s Committee in the southern province of Binh Duong has placed a ban on any sand dredging activities in the Saigon and Dong Nai Rivers.

Accordingly, 28 areas have been declared as prohibited and two areas will see a temporary halt in the province that borders Ho Chi Minh City.

The two areas subjected to a temporary halt include a 104 kilometer stretch of the Saigon River, running from Binh Duong Province to the upper reaches of the river, while the second area includes an entire 58 kilometer stretch of the Dong Nai River.
