The 8.2-kilometer bridge, located on Highway 60, spans the Ham Luong River, linking  Ben Tre’s city and four other districts of Ben Tre province .

Construction work began on April 1, 2007 with an investment of nearly 787 billion VND from the government budget.

The bridge cuts time to travel from Ben Tre, to Tra Vinh and Soc Trang  provinces and eases traffic pressure here.

Together with Rach Mieu Bridge, Ham Luong Bridge shortens travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta coastal provinces and help these provinces accelerate socio-economic development and improve living conditions of people there. .
