Embassy in UK helps with identification of container tragedy victims

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked the Vietnamese Embassy of in the UK to work closely with local police to verify nationalities of victims of a tragedy in which 39 people found dead in a container at Waterglade industrial park in Essex on October 23.

The ministry has also requested the Consular Department to work with relevant agencies at home and provide information for British authorities to assist them in defining nationalities of the victims.
Currently, the embassy has kept a close watch on the case and cooperated closely with relevant British agencies to accelerate the investigation process, while preparing necessary citizen protection measures in case there are Vietnamese victims.
