EU considered as VN”s leading trade & investment partner: PM Phuc

Within an official visit framework to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Vietnamese Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc received leaders of some economic associations and groups of Netherlands and leaders of Europe-ASEAN Business Alliance (EABA) yesterday (following the local time).

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated an important role of EABA in connecting between enterprises; especially, cooperation consultation and assistance between European enterprises with ASEAN region. 

PM Phuc affirmed that EU is considered as the leading trade and investment partner of Vietnam; and the economic cooperative potentialities between Vietnam with EU and the Netherland are large. 

The Vietnamese Government always creates favorable conditions for European investors into the country in the fields: infrastructure, support industry, high technology, responding to climate change, renewable energies and environment. 

He also suggested EABA should take full advantage as well as benefits from EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to call on the European enterprises promoting their business as well as investment into Vietnam market, and approaching Asian Pacific market. 

The EABA’s leaders strongly affirmed that they would make efforts to promote further EU- ASEAN trade, investment and cooperation relationship; support the early signing period for EVFTA to create new motivation for economic cooperation development between Vietnam and EU.

Both signing as well as implementation of EVFTA are expected to actively impact to the trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Netherlands, added PM Phuc. 

The leader of the Netherlands- Vietnam Commerce Chamber promised to take new chances from EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement to develop the two nations’ friendship and Vietnam’s socio- economy. 

On the same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Vamed Group Mr. Ernst Wastler.

At the reception, he thanked the Austrian economic group’s assistance for Vietnam’s public health system during past 20 years, suggesting that Vamed Group would continue paying more assistances for Vietnam’s health sector in the upcoming time.
