On June 12, the Housing Bank of Mekong Delta (MHB) signed a contract with the Ministry of Finance to be reloaned EUR25 million from the assistance capital of the French Agency for Development (AFD).

The total fund will be spent on a housing development project for inhabitants in flood-affected areas of 13 Mekong Delta provinces of Dong Thap, Long An, Tien Giang, An Giang, Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Tra Vinh, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

MHB said the loans will be used for infrastructure construction, relocation and resettlement projects. Also, the inhabitants can have access to loans for their construction of factories, storages, post-harvest preservation and processing facilities, and transport means for agricultural production.
