EVN announced to detect many solar inverters showing China's illegal nine-dash line, mostly in the South. The company is therefore determined to eliminate it.
Specifically, the Electricity of Vietnam Group's Southern Power Corporation reported that solar inverter made in foreign countries using software to keep track the solar energy system display China's illegal nine-dash line in the southern market.
EVN announced the nine-dash line seriously violates Vietnam’s sovereignty. Therefore, EVN asked its subordinates to re-check software and equipment as well as technique document to eliminate those with illegal nine-dash line.
Households installing solar inverters displaying nine-dash line must remove it and install the new ones. The company will not buy power from anyone disobeying the regulation.
The company will disseminate the information of nine-dash line in its portal and other media to prevent customers from buying such equipment.
Solar power is increasingly affordable. Each solar panel for a household costs around VND20 million – VND25 million (US$ 861.7 - $1,077 ).
