Exhilarated blood donation festival opens in Hanoi

An exhilarated blood donation festival took place in the Vietnam National University in Hanoi yesterday with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and leaders of the departments.

Speaking at the festival, Deputy PM Binh said that the voluntary blood donation has humanitarian meaning to the society bringing positive effect on the blood donation movement. He proposed in next time, related agencies need to strengthen the movement of blood donation in the community by increasing information as well as taking care of donors as per the regulation.

Mr. Binh called for more donations of all people in the country to save patients. He and leaders from the departments participated in demonstration with thousands of students in Hanoi.

On the same day, in Ho Chi Minh City, charitable blood donation held by Tien Phong Newspaper and Cho Ray Hospital, and Humanitarian Blood Donation Center and some organizations took place in Van Hien University. The program attracted nearly 3,000 participants and collected 3,000 blood units.

Yesterday, Hue University and Youth Communist Union in the central province of THua Thien-Hue organized a Pink Festival in response to Red Sunday Blood Donation. The Pink Festival attracted over 500 students who donated 500 blood units.
