Former Banker’s Family Donates VND120 Million to Help Poor Patients

In compliance with the wish of Mr. Tran Duong, director of the State Bank of Viet Nam from 1977 to 1981, VND120 million collected from his funeral was handed over to the Ho Chi Minh City’s Sponsorial Association for Poor Patients on January 9 by Nguyen Vinh Quang, his first-son.

The money will be used to provide life-saving surgery to children with serious heart disease. His family has previously given VND20.5 million to the charity fund of the Ward 7 in Distrcit 3, Ho Chi Minh City.

Born in 1920 in Kien Xuong District, Thai Binh Province, Mr. Tran Duong became a revolutionary soldier in 1940.

He passed away on December 30 at 86 years of age in Ho Chi Minh City.

Up to now, more than VND2.8 billion collected from 89 funerals was given to the charity fund of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Sponsorial Association for Poor Patients.
