A fund was set up to conduct charity works on June 4 in Hanoi.
The Fund's charitable community of Internet users in Vietnam (Viet Nam -VNIF Internet User Community Foundation), a nonprofit organization, operates on a voluntary basis, self-funding to serve the purpose of humanitarian assistance, charity, education, improving quality of life and social and human resource building for the development of the country.

This fund will be an important portal to help charities, sponsorships, social centers, other organizations and philanthropically-minded individuals who wish to meet with beneficiaries of funds easily.
The fund was introduced by its president Le Hong Minh, (CEO of the VNG Company), and Miss Mai Phuong Thuy, the fund’s goodwill ambassador.
Starting with VND2 billion, VNIF will receive more financial assistance from the VNG Company’s staff, as well as other benefactors.
The fund will help disabled, homeless and poor children in distant regions, unfortunate persons, diseased people, the elderly without relatives, dioxin agent victims and residents of disaster-hit areas.
The fund will conduct projects to support unable persons to integrate into society with the aid of technology. For instance, the fund organizers will launch a competition in June to seek for measures and IT products to help disabled people and will give computers to unfortunate people, teach them internet literacy so they may keep in touch with society.
VNIF also provides scholarships to kids from lower income families who have earned good grades in school.
As VNIF’s goodwill ambassador, Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy said she will spend more time on charitable works and she will call on gamers and internet users to contribute by conducting activities to help disadvantaged people in the society.
