General Secretary of Communist Party of India visits HCMC

On May 24, Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a high level delegation meeting with Mr. Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

On behalf of the Party and People of HCMC, Party Secretary Le Thanh Hai expressed his pleasure at Mr. Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy’s visit to Vietnam.

Mr.Hai stressed that the visit expressed a close friendship between India and Vietnam. Mr.Hai affirmed that HCMC would try to strengthen cooperation with their foreign partners. Vietnam has often cooperated well with India in the past. In particular, HCMC leaders have regularly contacted and met with a number of Indian investors to strengthen cooperation projects.

On his part, Mr. Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy affirmed that the Communist Party of India and the Indian people would always respect the sentiments of the Vietnamese people. Vietnam and India have a long traditional close friendship because of two outstanding leaders, Prime Minister Nehru and President Ho Chi Minh.

After his visit to Cu Chi Tunnel, Mr Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said that he greatly admired the unbending spirit of the Vietnamese people.

On the same day, Mr. Hai had a meeting with Anna Burke, Chairwoman of Australian House of Parliament. On this occasion, Mr. Le Thanh Hai, affirmed that the close relationship between Vietnam and Australia is developing well in all fields, especially education and tourism.
