All donations from the tournament, called Business People Do Charity, will be used to support underprivileged people and to build social facilities, said Mr. Kiem.

He added until Tuesday, 144 Vietnamese and foreign business people have put their names down to swing in the tournament. The prizes will include three houses priced from US$120,000 to US$360,000 each, and three cars donated by companies.

At the press conference, Mr. Kiem presented a token check for VND3 billion (US$187,500) to representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients to support free eye surgery on the poor in Laos and Cambodia.
