|A flood-hit area in central Viet Nam in 2005|
The Government has decided to supply 750 tons of rice from the nation’s rice reserve and VND20 billion (about US$1.26 million) as relief aid for flood-hit provinces in the central and Central Highlands regions.
Prime Minister Phan Van Khai decided to allocate VND1 billion and 70 tons of rice to Quang Nam, Ninh Thuan and Kon Tum provinces each. Each of the two provinces Quang Ngai and Phu Yen receives VND3 billion and 100 tons of rice; Binh Dinh VND5 billion and 100 tons of rice; Khanh Hoa VND2 billion and 70 tons of rice.
The remaining VND4 billion and 130 tons of rice are provided to Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces.
The Government also decided to disburse an additional VND10 billion for the Ministry of Transport to upgrade flood-damaged road sections in the provinces, according to the Viet Nam News Agency.
