The Vietnamese ministries of Foreign Affairs, and Industry and Trade organize the first ASEM forum on energy security policy in Ha Noi on April 11-12, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday.
Mr. Le Dung said at a regular press conference in Ha Noi that the forum would focus on three topics – energy security policy and solutions to ensure energy security; energy security and sustainable development; and ASEM cooperation aiming to promote energy security and sustainable development.
He added 38 among the 45 members of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) forum have sent their representatives to this Ha Noi forum and 20 representatives have registered to make presentations at the event.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman said Viet Nam’s initiative to hold the forum reflects the country’s commitment to ASEM and its hope to increase efficiency of ASEM cooperation.
