Outgoing Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Ranjit Rae has pledged that in any position, he will keep working for the Vietnam-India friendship.

At a farewell meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on August 14, Rae said bilateral cooperation over the past time has brought practical benefits to both countries.

He said Indian firms are keen to invest more in Vietnam, especially in energy and finance, and asked that the Vietnamese Government facilitate Indian businessese’ operations in the country and back India’s Look East policy.

PM Dung said Vietnam wants to deepen far-reaching cooperation with India for the common development of the two nations.

He suggested enhancing economic cooperation, trade exchange and investment while increasing visits by all-level delegations and people-to-people exchange.

Vietnam and India should also foster links in education, culture, science-technology, national defence and security, PM Dung said.
