Chairman of People’s Committee of the capital city of Hanoi directed environment police and people’s committee in Soc Son District and related agencies to carry out investigation over illegally dumped waste.

In his paper to environment police, departments and people’s committee in Soc Son District, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee ordered to issue harsh penalties on violators and report investigation results to the Hanoi People Committee before December 25.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment must work with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Construction to identify what the illegal dumped waste is as well have solutions to remedy the environment to reduce bad impact on inhabitants’ health.
People’s committee in Soc Son District must prevent people from entering the place.
Before, local Dang Van Tu in Lai Son village and the neighbors smelt the stinks from the garden in July. After digging, farmer Tu found many bags stinking.
He reported it the local administration and the competent agencies. Later, environment police and related agencies took samples of water, air for testing.
Though competent agencies have not publicized what kind of the waste; phone batteries and chemicals including heavy metal and acid was found in the garden.
