As per its document to the provincial People’s Committee, it urged to suspend dredging activities and sand exploitation of three companies Dai Cat, Trung Hau and Cat Khanh.
In its document, director of the Department Vo Tan Thai pointed out that some sections in Song Can stream in the exploitation areas were washed out; accordingly, if exploitation is still carried out uncontrollably, it can cause more erosion.
Furthermore, in the document, the Department asked Dai Cat and Trung Hau Companies to reinforce embankment of Song Can Stream. In addition, enterprises are asked to verify the aim of the dredging activities is to allow water to flow normally.
After the companies carry out these requirements and stream embankments are not eroded after the flooding season, the Department will propose re-operation.
In the last time, the province administration granted license of exploitation to the three companies yet during exploitation, the stream faced erosion resulting in more protests from locals.
Subsequently,  Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also ordered Khanh Hoa authority to check sand exploitation activities and report to the PM.
