More flights, buses to run in Tet holidays

Transport companies pledged to provide quality means of transport to serve customers during Tet holidays (the Lunar New Year) when working with inspection team from the Ministry of Transport and the Traffic Safety Committee yesterday.

The inspection team paid visits to preparation for transport during Tet holidays in Airport Noi Bai in Hanoi, Hanoi Train Station and Nuoc Ngam Bus Station. Noi Bai Airport Director Vu The Phiet said that in Tet holidays, the number of flights will increase by 15 percent compared to same period last year.

Underground transport in the airport promised to have enough vehicles to serve customers in the special occasion especially night flights. Noi Bai airport authority will tighten service quality in the peak season.

To meet increased demand during Tet holidays and reduce traffic gridlock in the airport, the Ministry of Transport ordered airport authority to assign more staffs to work as well as enhance more equipments and buses to carry passengers from the airport to downtown of Hanoi.

Related agencies should enhance security order, firefighting mission and service quality.

Both Hanoi train station and Nuoc Ngam bus station managers ensured full vehicles for transport people returning home in Tet holidays while working with ministry inspectors, they were asked to tighten control on vehicles especially issuing fines to violators. Railway sector must pay attention to traffic safety in train crossings.

Ministry inspectors also asked Hanoi authority to add more buses from Hanoi Train station to big station in the city in order to facilitate people’s travelling.
