Numerous activities organized during mid autumn

A giant moon cake (photo) is displaying at Crescent Mall in Ho Chi Minh City's District 7and then will be given to patients at the HCM City Tumor Hospital (Second Premises) for the Tuoi Tre newspaper charity program called  "Thuy's Dream".

Its square of 1.2m x 1.2m and weighs 158kg is made from 25kg of lotus seeds, 22kg of green beans, 200 eggs, and other ingredients like malt, durian, lychee, and scallo.

A range of exciting activities celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival will be held at the Crescent area which is lit with 1,500 lanterns of various colors stretching 700m along the Crescent lake.

A mid-autumn festival was held for more than 800 disadvantaged students in Can Gio District by Saigontourist Holding Company. Of here, Saigontourist offered 60 scholarships worth VND500,000 each to students.

Thousands of presents and scholarships have been granted to poor and disabled children at the Que Huong Charity Center in Binh Duong Province and Thua Thien-Hue Province since early September.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Minister of Labor, War Invalids, & Social Welfare, Pham Thi Hai Chuyen; Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien and representatives of the Vietnam Children Support Fund visited and offered gifts to child patients at Viet Duc Hospital on September 6.

A blood donation program was also organized by the Hanoi-based Central Children Hospital on this occasion.

An art performance themed “Moon festival” will be held along the bank of Hau River in Can Tho City by Vietnam Television on September 7 and will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel.
