Over 86,000 Vietnamese people work abroad

Labor exporters have sent over 86,000 Vietnamese people to work abroad in eight months achieving 78 percent of the plan.

As per the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs’ plan, around 110,000 Vietnamese people will be sent to work overseas on contract this year.
In August alone, 13,100 workers were sent to work in foreign countries including more than 6,880 people to Japan; 5,130 to Taiwan (China) and 540 to South Korea.
Some 340 labor exporters have been set up in the country mostly in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
To protect laborers, the Ministry has enhanced its supervision and handled violations of labor exporters. Nine violators had to pay nearly VND600 million ($25,742) fines for failing to have detailed contract, collecting big fee from laborers, sending laborers to foreign countries without permission.
