Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and Lao Vice President Boungnang Volachit renewed determination to further strengthen special solidarity and cooperation between the two countries.

He said he was confident that the Lao people would reap more gains and succeed in building their fatherland a country of peace, independence, democracy, unity and prosperity.
Boungnang Volachit, who is also member of the Political Bureau and the Standing Board of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, is currently in Ha Noi to present Laos' National Golden Order and Itsara Order to Vietnamese Party and State leaders.

After more than one year of cooperation, with joint efforts of Vietnam’s authorised agencies and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the treatment of dioxin at Bien Hoa airport in southern Dong Nai province has seen positive results, thus creating a premise for Vietnam and the US to clean up over 500,000cu.m of soil and sediment at the airport, Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen.
