The Personnel Chief of the Communist Party Viet Nam has cited a long list of key tasks set for 2007 to strengthen the Party structure.

Ho Duc Viet, a Party Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Head of the Party Commission for Organization, was speaking at an all-Party Conference on Party strengthening work in 2007, held in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.

He said the Party's organization agencies at all levels should advise the Party Politburo and Secretariat in restructuring Party organs as well as Party organizations in localities, mass organizations and State agencies and in preparing candidates for the coming legislative elections.

The agencies should also implement the Party Central Committee's resolution on renewing the Party leadership style in combination with reforms in the entire political system.

These tasks should be carried out synchronously in an effort to improve the leadership and combat capacity of the Party as well as the personal qualities of its members, said the senior Party official.

He also urged the Party's organization agencies themselves to continue reforming their routinely operations, focusing on key priorities in order to fulfill their heavy tasks.
