Prime Minister of Vietnam has decided to provide aid of VND120 billion (over US$5.7 million) to farmers in the Mekong Delta to purchase seeds for the upcoming winter-spring rice crop.

The PM ordered the Ministry of Finance to use state budget funds to support farmers who are still suffering from losses from the recent devastating floods.

The Mekong Delta, the most fertile region in the country, produces about 17 million tons of rice annually, which feeds the entire nation besides also bringing in huge profits from global exports
