On his trip to  Southern provinces, President Tran Dai Quang yesterday visited laborers in Binh Duong, wishing a Happy New Year (when the Lunar New year is approaching)

In the province’s Labor Culture House, President Tran Dai Quang gifted workers in industrial parks. As per the Labor Union in Binh Duong Province, 1.2 million workers are working in industrial and export processing zones with 85 percent of them coming from different provinces.
So far, over 80 percent of companies have pay basic salary according to the law. Most of laborers received January wage and bonus for Tet holiday ( the Lunar New Year) with average of VND6.5 million per person.
On the occasion of Lunar New Year, labor union along with relevant agencies called for a charity fund of VND5 billion ($219,797) and 10,000 transport tickets for difficult workers who can’t afford a trip to return their homeland in Tet holiday for years.
Unions in giant companies also organized lucky draw and musical performance to raise a fund and present gifts to laborers totally worth VND52 billion.
President Tran Dai Quang said in 2017, for the very first time, the country finished 13 goals of socio-economic growth including stable macro economy development, inflation under control and Gross domestic product of 6.81 percent, export revenue of $425 billion and foreign direct investment of $33 billion thanks to workers’ and unions’ huge contribution.
Accordingly, the president appreciated the Vietnam Labor Union and the union in Binh Duong Province’s activities to take care of workers’ living condition especially “Tet sum vay” ( Gathering Tet) program to share workers’ difficulties while living far from their homeland. The president encouraged the unions to undertake more social welfare activities in next time.
He added that many workers in some localities are still poor; accordingly, Binh Duong Province and other local administrations nationwide have to take heeds to laborers’ living condition so that workers can feel appreciated to produce. Moreover, to narrow the rich-poor gap in provinces and areas, all sectors, state agencies and unions to look after for workers’ lives.
On the occasion the president gifted 20 poor laborers each worth VND1 million.
On the same day, President Quang and the officers of  High Command Military Corps No.4 burned incense for martyrs, wished soldiers of the Corps the happy new year and planted trees in the Corps’ headquarter in Di An Town.
