President Nguyen Minh Triet, leading the delegation of high ranking officials of Vietnam on Sept. 18 afternoon ( local time ) arrived to New York city (U.S.A). Mr Triet will attend a three-day United Nations Summit on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in New York that will start on Sept. 20 until Sept 22.

The State leader will present Vietnam ’s national MDG report at the summit. The country has already achieved five out of eight MDGs ahead of the 2015 deadline.

President Triet, as ASEAN chairman, together with US President Barrack Obama, will then chair the second ASEAN-US Summit to be held on Sept. 24 in New York.

Before arriving to America, on his step over in Kansai international airport in Osaka, Japan, the Vietnamese President talked with Mr Toshizo Ido, the Governor of Hyogo province and Mr Tamura, Vice mayor of Sakai city.
