Press prize on natural disaster prevention launched

The national press prize 2019 themed “Minimize the damage caused by natural disasters - proactive adaptation to climate change in the community” was launched today in Hanoi.

The prize, the first of its kind, was launched by the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under the Vietnam Disaster Management Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the UN Development Program.
It aims to acknowledge and commend individuals and teams that have contributed to disseminating information of natural disaster prevention as well as improving organizations’ responsibility and experience in accessing to disaster prevention.
Moreover, these individuals and organizations have contributed to enhancing coordination among disaster controllers, media agencies and the community.
The first prize of each press kinds including traditional printing newspaper, digital paper photographs will be worth VND40 million, the second prize VND20 million, third prize VND10 million($430.8).
Entries should be sent no later than March 31, 2020. The award ceremony will be held in May, 2020 on the National Disaster Awareness Week.
