Railway Corp. Spends Billions to Reinforce Flood-prone Line

The damaged line needs to be reinforced

The Vietnam Railways Corporation is busy reinforcing the main line through the central region from Quang Binh to Khanh Hoa, where flooding is a constant menace.

It will cost an estimated VND40 billion to build more embankments to elevate the line in low-lying areas, shore up the cuttings to keep loose rocks off the tracks, and install more drainage pipes to carry excess water away.
