Rains hit nationwide

The National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting said the northern and north central region continue suffering heavy rains and thunderstorms; even heavy rains are hitting the central highlands and southern region.

Due to the infection of low-pressure trough accompanied by strong winds, the northern and north central will experience heavy rains tonight.

Several parts of west northern and the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An will also have rains to heavy rains and thunderstorms. Possible tornadoes, strong winds may also occur in the region.

In Hanoi, prolonged rains and scattered thunderstorms will cover over in the late afternoon and at night.

The southwest monsoon is forecast to strengthen in the next 2 to three days, causing rains and scattered thunderstorms in the central highlands and southern region. Hailstorm, strong winds may hit the region.

At present, low-pressure trough which centers at 18 to 21 degrees north attitude is operating stronger, thus on June 19, the north of east sea (including Hoang Sa Archipelago) is predicted to experience rains, strong winds and whirlwinds.

The strongest winds will be at level 7 to 8. The 2 to 3.5m high waves are forecast to occur with rough seas.

Today, the coastal provinces of Binh Thuan to Ca Mau have northwest winds; rough seas while the coastal provinces from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Ca Mau and Ca Mau to Kien Giang and Thailand gulf suffer strong thunderstorms, possible whirlwinds.

The provinces of Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue have rains, scattered thunderstorms.

The lowest temperature is at 26 to 29 degrees Celsius and highest temperature swings at 31 to 34 degrees Celsius.

The provinces from Danang to Binh Thuan experience rains, thunderstorms at night. The highest temperature is at 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.
