Two individuals of a rare fish species have been found for the first time at the Xuan Son National Park, Phu Tho province.
Experts identified the species' scientific name as Tylototriton Vietnamensis sp.n., belonging to the Tylototriton genus of the Salamandridae family.
It is similar to a new species reported in Germany's Salamandra magazine in November last year.
Fisheries Minister announced the list of 21 aquatic species including the Tylototriton Vietnamensis sp.n, for which hunting is strictly prohibited. According to the Viet Nam’s Red Data Book, Tylototriton Vietnamensis sp.n is on the list of species under E – level risk of being extinct.
