The refinery is expected to produce A90, A92, and A95 gasoline in the beginning of June.
Situated in the Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai Province, the VND40 trillion (US$2.24 billion) refinery has an annual capacity of 6.5 million tons of refined products.
It is expected to meet around 50 percent of domestic demand when operating at full capacity.
The refinery was built by Technip (France), JGC (Japan), and Técnicas Reunidas (Spain) and is still on trial operation.
The contractors plan to hand over the refinery to Petrovietnam, the owner, in October.
